We are offering a series of custom classes to be taught at our home or yours. Our purpose is to teach the basics of courtesy, cooking skills, crafts and self-esteem. Our minimum is four persons per class. Classes are 90 minutes except where specified. Times can be arranged to suit your schedule and classes customized for your interest.
For 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 year old boys and girls at $35 each. Sweet-treat making and card creations, all in a take-home basket. Bring a small basket and photos of family, pets and favorite things.
For 4-6 and 7-9-year-old girls at $40 each. Our tea parties include making crafts and invitations, preparing tea goodies and hosting.
Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 pm for children over 7 at $50 each. Over a light meal they have prepared, children learn the basics of good manners at home, school and in public. Table setting and introductions will be demonstrated. A session for the whole family called "Taking My Manners on the Road" can be taught at your home, church or school.
Zacki Murphy was formerly known as "Ms. Manners of Atlanta." She also teaches classes from the culinary arts to centerpiece design. She loves coaching children, teens and adults in how to have impeccable manners and the keys to higher self-esteem and a healthy personal image. She shares her love of food and knowledge of Southern hospitality through cooking classes that include learning new recipes, how to taste and evaluate food and making creative table presentations.
Minimum of four adults for two hours. $50 each includes drinks, food and recipes to take home. This is a hands-on cooking class, where you will make three seasonal soups.
This is a two-hour class with a minimum of four adults. The class fee is $60 each that includes wine and hors d'oeuvres. Wines are paired to match our delicious party fare such as Gorgonzola/Pecan Grapes, Shrimp Toasts, and Curried Chicken Salad in Pastry. By night's end, you will have had fun, soups to take home, and new recipes to share with your family & friends! Other custom cooking classes offered are "Holiday Treats" and "What to do with Left-Overs?"
Zacki Murphy Takes Her Manners on the Road and travels to your home where the entire family can be involved. The children learn the skills of preparing a meal, creating an ambiance and hosting as well as clearing and cleaning techniques. The parents participate in a sit down dinner where everyone shares the same etiquette information
Demonstration of utilizing what is in your backyard and bringing it to your dining table. Zacki will show designs using fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other natural elements. Cutlery placement and tableware settings also will be discussed.
While Zacki's classes are generally held in the Durham/Raleigh area, she is available to travel within and outside the state of North Carolina.
